 this is William Elliott Whitmore of Iowa. he plays a shitty banjo he bought off a friend for twenty dollars and three beers. last night he opened for Murder by Death at the Troubador. I've never heard anything so lacking in pretension or self-consciousness. 
oh yeah, murder by death was awesome but my dumb camera doesn't perform well in low light and the band moved around too much for me to get a good shot.
